Images from the "First Team" during the Gulf War
The following photo gallery was compiled by Ronald Andrew "Andy" Hoskinson. Most of the photographs were taken from his personal collection and the personal collection of Norman Jarvis.
This collection is dedicated to the brave men and women who served honorably with the First Cavalry Division during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait from September 1990 to May 1991, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for their country. May they rest in peace.
The author gratefully acknowledges the invaluable assistance of Norman Jarvis in putting this portfolio together.
This collection contains the following resources:
- Photos from the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery's participation in operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, courtesy of Andy Hoskinson.
- Photos from the 13th Signal Battalion's participation in operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, provided by Norman "C.J." Jarvis.
- Andy Hoskinson's Gulf War Diary, a first-hand account of the Gulf War.
- A clickable campaign map that allows you to explore this web site visually.
If you only have a few minutes and want to preview the contents of this website, take a look at the promotional video below. For this video, I included a montage of photos (complete with captions) from this website, and put them to music using my original song The Guardian. This video gives you a good feel for breadth of the deployment. Also, My Gulf War Diary is now available as an eBook on the Amazon Kindle Store for the low price of $2.99. Buy it here. Enjoy!
